While on my runs

A slow process

In March the builders started work, which meant that (among other things) we needed to ensure that pots with plants in, and planter bags containing all sorts (e.g. four rhubarb plants; a number of bulbs, some sprouted some not). Six months of rain, sunshine and benign neglect resulted in prolific growth of weeds, especially tradescantia. This weekend (a three day one as  Monday is Labour Day,a public holiday) I have spent a few hours identifying which pots have an identified plant, and putting them safely behind the brick 'wall' which will eventually surround and protect a garden.

In the process I have filled two bags with tradescantia and generally weeded the bank. S has asked that the long Ponga log be placed a short way up the bank to act as a sort of barrier to erosion. I will need the help of Mr H as it is so long that it becomes unwieldy.

As an extra I have put up a phot I took of daughter C's computer screen as she was showing us photos from her trip to Ireland. This was the Dublin page; from a couple of hours walking after flights from Auckland to Dublin to start her fact finding.
