Allt Shallainn

The Allt Shallain with correct spelling tonight. From here, when the mist lifted at least, I could look about 4 miles north along Loch Garry and see the trucks trundling along on the A9. Our route home however took 90 minutes by car to reach the same point. That's an average velocity of about 2.5 mph. Our route out took us 6 miles on a rough Land Rover track to Loch Rannoch then Kinloch Rannoch, Trinafour and eventually the A9.
The satnav told me that the straight line distance to my house from site was 24 miles (correct I have just checked it out) and the same device which only kicks in properly upon reaching bitmac road six miles later predicted a journey distance of 102 miles.
