Statue of Alfred Lord Tennyson .
The statue was sculpted as a memorial by George Frederic Watts a close friend of Tennyson, who had also painted his portrait a few times.
This bronze can be seen outside Lincoln cathedral.
The statue shows Tennyson pondering over a small flower with his dog Karenina. Presumably the flower is what influenced the poem:-
Flower in the crannied wall as the poem is written on the back of the statue:-
Flower in the crannied wall,
I pluck you out of the crannies,
I hold you here, root and all, in my hand,
Little flower—but if I could understand
What you are, root and all, and all in all,
I should know what God and man is.
