Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

Another beautiful autumn day. One week to go! So I have suddenly sprung into action re my capsule wardrobe clothes packing. I looked out a few things, washed a couple of things, tried on a couple of things, then gave up. Plenty of time...

I did a few things, eg booked fast track through the airport security, wrote to Archie's dog boarder with timings. Then Archie and I went out round the Links.

In the afternoon we popped round to Abi's for a late lunch. Archie was SO excited! How did he know we were going there??? We walk round that corner SO many times, but this time, he started barking excitedly the whole way to their gate!! Why?? As soon as the door was opened, he rushed in right past his hosts - he always wants to check out their back garden, which is MUCH more interesting than ours.

Pip was out visiting, and came later, but they're not playful buddies anyway, mostly ignoring each other. Though if one is getting too much attention, the other will muscle in!

We had a delicious lunch - nibbles, an Ottolenghi pasta & king prawn divine concoction and lots of champagne. Fun to catch up with the young folk. This summer has been sadly lacking in back garden get-togethers.
