Warp and Weft

I went to this fascinating costume exhibition celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Basil Papantoniou Foundation, which I confess I had never heard of. It includes over 150 garments and accessories from the foundation's vast collection, which range from rare old local folk costumes, to unique items of Greek and international fashion, to experimental designs made from repurposed materials and unusual fabrics highlighting environmental concerns. The foundation's founder, costume designer Ioanna Papantoniou, apparently played an important role in the preservation of Greece's cultural heritage.
