fading

I'm  not a big fan of Halloween so I've relegated today's scary photo to the extras. Joanna and I went through the village on our walk and preparations were underway for the children's "Pumpkin Walk" tonight. I'm sure they'll all enjoy it. I can safely say that no children will be wandering up our long, dark, scary drive in the hope of sweets!

This fading hydrangea flower reminded me of the colours I'd chosen for my hat. I've cast on another one now but will only be knitting after dark (and since the clocks go back tonight, there will be plenty of knitting hours to enjoy).

D and I have just enjoyed our first aubergine fesenjan of the winter. A bit fiddly, but very tasty :-)
