Life through my eyes

Dogs 'n' trees of Westonbirt

Jo wanted to go somewhere different so suggested Severn Beach but it's not that exciting so after a quick look at Bristol Barkers website we decided on Dyrham Park only to be told on arrival that no dogs aren't actually allowed. We tossed up between Castle Coombe and Westonbirt. Westonbirt was the closest so won out. It was busy! All the extra fields were being used for parking and they had all the extra burger vans etc out.

There were loads of dogs and Beau was very, very good. As soon as he came home he was up on my bed (Jo went to Tesco). Jo was a bit more relaxed as there was space to navigate around them. My favourite dogs of the day are Rex the ambitious stick wielding whippet who was not letting go of his prize, Milo the whippet and Roxy the greyhound (who luckily for him was a failed racing greyhound and rescued at 18 months).

My extra is she of the amazing colours on the trees. They were really stunning in the sunshine. It's not often the colours on the big trees coincide with a lovely weekend. I think Mr T and I got the timing right in 2007 for the acers. He would have loved it today.

There is a Christmas illumination event so we decided to join as members as we've been twice this year and both like it. It's not much further then Severn Beach but has nice places for Beau to be walked. We were allowed to do a joint membership which saved a bit and we got a voucher equivalent to our entry fee today for the shop. We will each have our own card if we wanted to go independently.
