Tree Trimming

Today was the day.  
Today our Leylandii conifers were to receive a much needed 'haircut'. I planted these about 40 years ago and - like Topsy - they grew and grew.  We had them trimmed during those years, but it was always a losing battle and a few years ago Northern Power said they would cut them back for us as our power line went through them. For many reasons it took about 5 years for them to actually arrive, but today was that day.
The contractors certainly knew their stuff - and, as Mrs MD remarked - it was like watching an artist with a chain saw.....  My extra shows the shredding machine in action - quite fascinating...
