Riding the streetcars

Didn’t realise i’d left a gap on 25/9 from our USA holiday

On our second day in New Orleans we bought a day pass for $3 that allowed us to hop on & off any streetcar as we pleased.

We rode uptown & visited the Louis Armstrong Park… lots of art installations, we met a guy riding his bike, with a big folder containing lots of pics & info, he talked to us about the history of black music, about how they buried their dead to music, the first part in mourning, then the second procession to celebrate their life, it was fascinating.

We walked over 15k steps across the day, visited an art exhibition, a proper old fashioned bar, sat on high stools drinking beer from a bottle, at 11.30 in the morning, it was hot & humid…… that was our excuse ;-)

On the ride back we had the pleasure of listening to this guy playing his kind of blues on his harmonica …… only in New Orleans, loved it!!!
