Misty walk
An old friend (J) organises a loose network of women for monthly walks together. I've missed the last few, but finally managed to get to one this morning. J had plotted a circular route just outside Sheffield, taking in woodland trails, a local reservoir and a climb to some heathery moorland.
There was dense fog all morning, so we missed out on scenic vistas. But the fog and the stillness lent the woodland a really magical air. There's been little wind recently, so many trees still have most of their leaves. We had a good walk together, chatting and accommodating our various differing physical limitations.
Then I dropped into Jack and Marianna's for a late lunch with Jack and Simone. Jack has finally recovered from his tonsillitis episode, and he caught me up a bit on how his new job is going.
Having walked some 17,000 steps, I'm tempted to lie down for a nap now.....
