Quod oculus meus videt

Fagus Row, Upper Moor

I headed off towards Matlock first thing, to visit a couple of locations for some photography.  The first location was new to me, Fagus Row, Upper Moor, near Matlock where this avenue runs for more than a quarter of a mile, lined with a dry stone wall and these beech trees on one side.  I spent a lovely hour or more just walking along, taking various images.  The leaves still need to turn a bit more and mist would have been an added dimension, but if I'm lucky there may be another opportunity to visit while the leaves are still hanging on.

Afterwards I visited the Lumsdale Valley, somewhere I've visited before and know that it is always good value for images (see extra). A thoroughly enjoyable time, where I also bumped into a group of photographers from Holmfirth, who have come down to the Peak District for a few days for some photographic locations.
