Beautiful Lake Tarawera!

Another beautiful day here and DrD went for a long walk and stopped for an hour or so to see our chronically unwell neighbour who had a 4 month reprieve from his severe back pain and has produce dozens of beautiful wooden pieces in his workshop to be sold tomorrow at Lake Tarawera Spring Fair. Dr D reports little treasure boxes, fruit bowls, lazy susans, charcuterie boards and many other beautiful items , most redrafted from parts of gorgeous old wine barrels. They are real treasures.
Meanwhile I had tasks to complete at Hermione Cottage in readiness for our Labour Weekend guests who arrive this afternoon.
Some of our neighbours have already arrived at their baches (holiday homes) for the long weekend and there are already boats on the lake...sailing, fishing and skiing .
The view in the main image is from the front deck and I thought ( in extras)you may like to see the beautiful native New Zealand bush which is the backdrop to our bay.
We have many native birds here...ruru (native owl),tui ,kereru(native pigeon) , piwakwaka (fantail) and are woken each morning by the beautiful call of the bellbird which is also the last call of the evening. There are also many beautiful aquatic birds, amongst them the rare dabchick.
