Life through the lens...

Poppies in October.

Just back from an enjoyable walk with the Pudseys.
Another lovely Autumn day although not much sunshine.
We started out at Spofforth near Wetherby, Yorkshire.
Here there are the remains of a Manor House/castle dating from the 14th and 15th centuries.

It was the main seat of the Percy family.
William de Percy was a favourite of William the Conqueror and he built a manor house here in the 11th Century.
It was reputedly here that the rebel barons drew up the Magna Carta in 1215.

Our walk took us across some beautiful countryside to the village of Kirby Overblow, where we stopped for lunch. ( Seating provided by the church.)
Then back across more fields and woods to Spofforth.
A collage of photos taken on the walk as an extra. ( 6.5 miles. )

However this photo of the poppies and a field of daisies had to be my main blip.
Just didn’t expect to see these flowing in late October. They looked beautiful.

MrC would like to say many thanks for the Happy Birthday wishes from all my Blip friends yesterday. So kind of you all.
