Psychopathy

Another quiet reading day…I’ve got through all the papers now so just sorting out the choreography for the meeting now.
I went down to town and looked unsuccessfully for some replacement black winter boots. Saw some abseilers coming down the castle rock (extra) and chatted about friendships to J at lunchtime, then home.
Late afternoon A&N came round and we had some Thai food in Soi 38 then walked over to the Usher Hall to see Jon Ronson do an evening about psychopaths, following his book some time ago on the subject, but with material from his later researches and interviews. He had two guests on with him for some of the time…a woman who’d married a psychopath and uncovered his multiple relationships and lies after several years, and Colin Stagg who’d been wrongly charged and imprisoned for Rachel Tickell’s murder (slightly tenuous link to the topic….ie he was imprisoned instead of the psychopath who was actually guilty). He included a good mix of research, anecdote, history of psychiatry etc and it was an interesting and in parts amusing evening.
Home and straight to bed.
