The accidental finding

A platter of sandwiches

...so what?

I worked at home in the morning, then I had to run down to the town surgery at a hundred miles an hour, because I was late for a compulsory training. This included a sandwich lunch. The training was with Gloucestershire deaf association and was excellent.
Afterwards  there were lots of sandwiches and posh quiches left over, so I was asked to take them to some homeless people. I haven't got any clients currently in that situation, or not in Stroud, but it wasn't hard to find people on the street to give them to. I even went back to the surgery to get another tray.

As I approached the folk in the town graveyard, they asked me if I was bringing food. I said yes, and laid the plastic tray down imon a flat tomb and started burbling on about how they were a mixture of meat and vegetarian, but there were No Nuts! One person said she'd 'take a platter up to M's bungalow' which somehow made me think of a 1970s drinks party.

I went off to look for Steve, who was taking photos of the church/churchyard, and as I passed near the tomb again in my way home, a guy was selecting a sandwich, while a well-known young woman approaching him was hurling lewd words at him, implying that he was going to eat them all. There but for the grace of God go I. (GG and I did eat sandwiches from a tombstone in the snow, during the Great Lockdown of 2021, when picknicking or walking outdoors with one other person was the only permitted activity. Hey, guess what? GG and I have both just had CoVid again, but with added vaccinations).

I walked home and had some personal stuff to do, and realised I hadn't done much actual paid work today, so went back to my desk, and suddenly  it was 7.45 already, so I switched everything off and went to eat the rest of my own gluten free sandwiches left over from the lunch. They were a bit dull, but there was a delicious chocolate cake too. Afterwards, I faffed around looking for things to pack because I'm going to Whitby soon, and suddenly it was bedtime.

Goodnight!
