The week is only half over, but at least we're over the hump now. I usually listen to National Public Radio when I'm in the car, but going to Pilates someone was talking about climate change and how a lot of the changes we're all experiencing cannot be turned back. It was the last straw ...one of those things I feel I am very aware of, and can do very little more than I am already doing to bring about. In the course of every election cycle, there comes a time when absolutely nothing can get done pending the results. Usually it's more or less the 6 months before the election, but this time I feel like it's been more than four years!

I turned the radio to the classical music station.

I raced home from class to check on Blake who has a condition where he collapses, gets disoriented, and can barely stand up, much less walk. Nobody can figure out what is causing it but antibiotics seemed to keep it at bay.

A few months ago Dana and Jim, once again took him off the antibiotics and he seemed to be doing fine, but his pacing around on Monday wasn't the fact that John might have forgotten to feed him, but the beginning of another episode. I talked to Dana in Santiago and Blake's vet down the street. Dana told me where to find the antibiotics and Steve, the vet, agreed that I should start giving them to him again, which I did. When we went to bed last night he was unable to get up, and if we managed to get him up he just collapsed again. I checked on him twice during the night. The first time he was right where we had left him on the bare wood floor.
The second time he had managed to get himself onto his bed which gave me some hope.

We awoke this morning to the sound of Blake's wagging tail hitting a big floor vase in our bedroom. He was getting around quite well, ate his breakfast and has been sleeping most of the day. Our normally undemanding sweet dog was back!

While I was sitting in my cubicle waiting to see the doctor for a regular check-up I got a text from Kathy saying she had a cancellation for tomorrow. I took it. John can stay home with the dogs  and wait for the
dishwasher repair guy to come while I run away from home for a couple of hours.

It's a fairly long drive to Kathy's. I'll be listening to the classical music station on the radio again....
