Day away

Today I hopped on the ferry for Cumbrae and met the lady who is helping me to find somewhere to live. What is now very obvious is that my house is not gong to sell in time for my move - so I need to rent. In Millport all the rentals are fully booked until the last week in September, so my guide made a new suggestion.

She introduced me to a lady who runs a B&B but takes in long term guests not on a B&B basis, just self catering. Perfect I thought. When I arrived at the house I almost passed out - this is the house that my parent's friend owned many years ago!!!! So I explained my goldfish appearance! She is very nice and the room I will have is delightful with double sliding doors out into the garden! As we chatted she introduced me to her big black lab Lucy and i said it reminded me of my Pebbles. Now it was her turn to look like a goldfish - they lady who owned the house before her (and after my parent's friends) had a black lab called Pebbles!! Well now I was getting really freaked out! Somehow this house was calling me in!

So I have agreed a rent and will stay with her for 7 weeks and then plenty other properties will have come up for rent and I can choose from them.

Quite exciting I think.

I left the island and headed for Irvine, my new HQ and met with my QIO. We got all kinds of things sorted and I got to choose between an Apple Macbook or Dell computer for work, so had a wee think...can hardly believe that one!!

I headed back to Gourock in the scorching heat and spent a fun evening at the scrabble board. No need to tell you who won!
