Shaggy Scalcaps

Routine blood tests for my husband this morning. 
 
During the morning, I made a carrot cake for our afternoon tea snack. It has not risen very much, but other than that looks okay.
 
Today’s picture is of some Shaggy Scalycaps, identified by an app on my phone. These were growing at the bottom of our oldest apple tree; I have not seen them growing there before. These are extremely poisonous to us but, clearly something has been eating it.
 
The temperature at noon today was fifteen degrees Celsius.
