Getting it Right

This day could not have been much better. We awoke early and headed down to the beach to capture a magnificent sunrise over the Atlantic Ocean. It was actually visible from our hotel balcony, but we wanted to experience the sunrise with sand and water between our toes.

Next we went back to the room to clean up and enjoyed a cup of coffee on the balcony, before heading down to the hotel cafe for an indulgent breakfast buffet.

The rest of the day was split between lounging at the pool under a perfect blue sky and playing in the warm ocean waves. All of the wedding guests arrived today and so we were always with a big group of people and had lots of fun meeting Lori's sisters and friends who came in from around the country.

By 5pm Sven and I headed to the ocean front lawn to meet my brother and his family for the wedding rehearsal. The ceremony will be officiated by Lori's oldest son, John while her younger son Patrick will walk her down the aisle and stand by her side along with Kevin's daughter, Emily. My brother has his two young sons, Matthew & Christopher standing by him and presenting the wedding bands. It's such a beautiful way to incorporate their five kids, keeping the ceremony simple and intimate. Readings will be done by me and Lori's youngest sister, Victoria.

After the rehearsal all the wedding guests (about 40 of us) headed to a grill called The Salty Pelican where we partied to live music in the upper terrace, had a fabulous buffet-meal, and perhaps a few too many cocktails :) During dinner we were graced with an amazing bay-side sunset, pictured here.
