signs…
…of fall
with a multicolored
squash
when i was growing up - there was a short - period of time in which - my grandma lived with us - she helped my mama - cook dinner every now - and again during which - she would make the - odd root vegetable that i - had never heard of - parsnips, turnips, beets - rutabaga and various squashes - the thing is, that when she - cooked these vegetables - she cooked all the nutrients - out of them, usually boiling - them until they were - essentially mush and - almost inedible, at least imo
to this day - most of those veggies - remain on my - do not eat list - which i know is - probably unfortunate but i just - don’t know the proper - way to cook them - to give them their due chance - however as with this squash - i believe they are - esthetically pleasing and i - enjoy having them out - on display due to the - natural beauty they hold - isn’t it amazing that a - vegetable can be so - intriguing to gaze upon - and in so doing - cause it to be…
a
happy day…..
