rising

My dough sits in its basket in the cellar all night. It is still dark at this time of year when I bring it upstairs, tip it into the warned Dutch oven and slit its top with a razor blade. While it bakes, I'm getting washed and dressed and having my breakfast. Before I leave for work, the magic has been done. A lovely fresh loaf sits cooling on the counter top :-)

The cafe was busy ( do I ever not say that?). It is school holidays here so we have families and people on holiday. I love it when people visit for the first time and gaze around at the building. I like them to be impressed by everything. I hope they are.

I did the weekly shop and was home by 4.30 and the sun was shining so I took Jess for a walk and she had a swim as well.

Now it is time for tea (with some of that loaf) and then I think more knitting will get done - I have been looking forward to it all day.
