Omni giraffes reflected

At the moment Paddy and Caitlin's lavatory is out of order during the daytime because their bathroom is being renovated. This is very inconvenient for Caitlin since she works from home. However, it is very much to our advantage because Caitlin is roosting in our study during her working hours until the new bathroom is ready. Her presence in the house gives me and Mr hazelh the opportunity to go out for longer periods than is normally possible when my mother is staying with us.

Although I am still feeling unwell, and suffered another very disturbed night, we were determined to make the most some freedom. We decided to make a trip to the cinema to see The outrun. I loved the book, had high hopes for the film on the basis of the opinion of trusted friends, and was keen see the scenes filmed in familiar places such as Orkney, the pool that I swim in three times a week, and our street. I was not disappointed: I loved the plotting, the music, the cinematography, the acting - everything! Unfortunately, poor Mr hazelh was not so keen. He considered it an over-long portrayal of utter misery. Oh dear...

Better news for him, however, is that we were given free tickets for another occasion because we were inconvenienced by a fire alarm just before the start of our picture. He can choose the film next time.

I noticed the reflection of giraffe sculpture in the window of the Omni Centre while we were waiting to be allowed back into the building after the alarm. I considered it worthy of a blip.

Exercise today: none apart from a small amount of walking (ill).
