Birders

I have been reading this book- Birders by Mark Cocker, subtitled Tales of a Tribe. It is helping me get a better understanding of the Official Birdwatcher and her friends. I am lucky enough to spend quite a bit of time with them. Tonight we went to a meeting of Devon Birds and a talk on bird behaviour. They are not really obsessional people as the book suggests - well maybe just a bit. Incredible knowledge of their subject is very evident whenever they get together. I suppose I am a hanger on. And I am picking it up.
