Wernigerode castle

Our last day in Wernigerode was again full with sightseeing. After we had put our belongings back into our car and left the apartment almost as we entered it last Friday, we had a guided walk to the Wernigerode castle and then again to the city of Wernigerode. Yeah, our guide was our son :)
Quite a lot of people had the same idea, although dark threatened to drop a lot of water on us. But they didn't, rain I mean.
We didn't enter the castle itself, not possible with Caspar. But the outside view was interesting. Although, as you can see in my entry, the castle was being renovated. But I guess for such an old building that is normal.

The centre of Wernigerode is a huge number of old buildings. Often they are standing very close to each other, are not big, and have their own form. Hence the roofs are often very different in size, position and height. I tried to show that in my extra. I do like that so much more than streets or even quarters with many identical houses.
