Setting sun
After a cool grey start the sun came out and it got very hot and sticky again. Love all this heat!
An interesting day as took part in Plantlife survey recording wildflowers through an allocated 1km square. My square was a few miles away and somewhere I hadn't been to before so it was great to explore a new area. I was too busy concentrating on spotting wildflowers to take any good shots.
Came across a good patch for butterflies, so also took part in the Big Butterfly Count. Saw a Skipper which I don't often see, and a Silver Y Moth, which I don't think I've even noticed before. It was interesting as it's one of two moths that the Big Butterfly Count are interested in hearing about.
I love taking part in these surveys as it really opens your eyes to what's around you.
Every evening this week the light has been lovely as the sun sets through the trees in the churchyard. I notice it as I bring in the washing and water the pots of plants around the door.
