Pillars Past
Moved to Nidderdale, to Pateley Bridge, today & had a wander around the town & along the river. This sculpture is one of a series of artworks in the areas visited by the long-distance Morecambe to Bridlington cycle route, "The Way of the Roses". Carved by Joseph Hayton, the figures represent lead mining, sheep farming and the monasteries which all played a part in shaping the landscape of the area.
