Gadwall

I'm back from the Scilly Isles now, but I still have a couple of backblips to do. I'll get round to them eventually.

This shot of a Gadwall was taken today at Leighton Moss in Cumbria. I called in for a couple of hours and was hoping to see an otter but it didn't happen.

I've just read something about Gadwalls that I didn't know. They are not as innocent looking as they appear. It seems they are not keen on diving down for their own aquatic plants, so instead they wait for other birds to bring it up and then steal it from them. I will watch out for this behaviour and try to capture it in a photo.
