Cleeve Abbey

The "Walking Group" I belong to, started over 26 years ago to do the Adult DofE (now discontinued) as our kids were all doing the 'real' Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme at their school.
Anything they can do we can do better - we thought!  Anyway, we did it and have met up twice a year as and when we can over the years.  The walks have got a lot shorter and the cafe episodes a lot longer.
Today four of the six of us managed to get to Cleeve Abbey a for a wander around.  This is an English Heritage building and is well maintained.

After we'd wandered around the site we enjoyed our lunch in the refectory where there were 'stamps'  to make cards, costumes to dress up in etc.
We enjoyed a short wander around Watchet and found a cafe for a cuppa before heading home.  A most pleasant day and it stayed dry until we got halfway home!
