Windy

Well, last night was a bit of a drama! If storms are blowing through you’d think sensible folk would be safely gathered indoors, hugging the fire. Us Cygnets? No chance.

We rode out the 50mph gale on our boat! How come? you ask (as would anyone with any self-preservation instinct). It just happened that we’d decided to visit the west coast of Argyll after our sojourn in the Lake District, to check up on the boat and make sure it was ready for wintering. We didn’t expect storm Ashley!

It was a very noisy and bumpy night. The Ards Man got up at 3am to tighten some ropes as the boat was bouncing off the pontoon. While he was out I could hear voices and it turned out that a member of the marina staff must have seen his head torch and came along to help. Excellent service!

It’s just 20mph winds at the mo but it still sounds fierce. Time for coffee and a biscuit to keep crew happy. :-)
