Movement

I caught this shot of the Koala Bear and waited and waited and waited for some movement any movement, he did shuffle at one point and tucked his head further into his chest.
There are only between 2-8 thousand now left in the wild, there are none in the wild in W.A they are natural inhabitants of the East Coast We have a dozen or so in Yanchep National Park just up the road for where we live, this little bundle lives there, his name is not related to a bear at all but comes from an ancient aboriginal word meaning "no drink" he receives 90% of his fluid intake from the eucalyptus leaves his only diet.
He is closely related to the Wombat a Marsupial who's live young live in the pouch.
The Koala also a Marsupial gives birth to one cub a year which lives in his Mothers pouch from around 5-6 months they have a breeding programme here at Yanchep and we have seen a few little cubs clinging on for dear life ( they cling on for around another 6 months) when the Mother comes down to feed on the leaves.
They only eat one specific gum leaf and its brought into the park daily, the Koala is more lively at night being a Nocturnal animal when there are fewer predators around, because they move so slowly due to the diet of eating only gum leaves, there only nutrition, they can eat up to 1kilo a day, and can sleep between 18-20 hours a day!
So movement would have been a fine thing this morning! Funny i thought of the Koala when I saw the topic today "movement" this is far from it but ho so cute!! I guess not many of you would see this little guy everyday!
