Seen Through a Screen

For a perfect ending to another perfect summer day, I barbecued chicken for dinner and we ate outside on the deck.

We have a retractable awning which gives us afternoon shade on the deck -- and keeps the house cooler -- there's also a detachable screen for the interval when the sun is low enough to shine below the awning, but not low enough to be blocked by the hill and trees behind us.

I liked this view of the hanging basket flowers seen through the screen, and the shadows cast by some of them. I hope you like it, too.
