Cider press

Rural Jersey… on the farm (a wonderful living museum) at Hamptonne’s annual cider festival!

A horse powered cider press was in action. Beautiful horse going round in circles, stopping every now and then for the crushed apples to be cleared and new ones poured in. Lots of excited children (and adults).

The horse was going surprisingly fast so I didn’t get any usable shots of him/her coming towards us. But I did enjoy a cup of cider!

Oh, and a Jersey Wonder, a cake which is hard to describe. We got absolutely drenched as the rain just got worse and worse, but it was fun.
