Storm Ashley
Storm Ashley arrived in the North West today, we spent the morning removing or weighing down anything which could be moved. We expected 70mph+ winds.
Having completed storm procedure 1A, Jess advised she was off to Workington to collect "bits". I have come to learn that "bits" are not to be queried, a nod and a righto is safest.
I negotiated a stopover in Harrington on the return trip having noted that it was blowing a hooley, the sky was clear, sun was in the south, we were close to high tide and the moon was an 85% waning gibbous!
All this came to fruition, the scene was wild. The blip is not the sharpest of shots and should have been a portrait but I was braced trying to stabilise and had one eye on water rushing in behind me from a slipway further along.
Extras are the scene on the other side of the pier and one from inside the car.
Just out of shot on the wall to the left is a sign which advises not to venture onto the pier in a storm..
