Conflict Abandoned

Another visit to the site of RAF Greenham Common, the abandoned and mostly dismantled air base which featured in the Cold War era.

A very small square of runway was left to link the perimeter track, and now it's always well-used by dog walkers, wildlife fans and joggers. A huge volume of concrete must have been excavated, but this small central patch of concrete and tarmac will serve as a reminder for decades.
