Tales from an Old Bassoon

In Doune this afternoon for a concert which was part of the weekend programme celebrating the centenary of the Doune Rural Hall. Bassoonist Peter Wesley and pianist Liivi Arder gave a marvellous recital.

The bassoon in the blip is owned by Peter Wesley having been purchased from Frank Read (1908-1995). Frank is the late grandfather in law of blipper hazelh. Hazelh, Mrhazelh (Frank's grandson),  Mummyhazelh and two other blippers Livresse and SparseRunner were there (see extra).

What a great afternoon's entertainment - the story of Frank and of the bassoon. Frank's own words shone through,  telling his captivating story.

In the blip is bassoonist Peter Wesley, the 100 year old bassoon and in the background a contrabassoon.

The storm is here but so far it's not too bad.

I've got a busy evening ahead so I might not manage much on blip.
