Harbour Pool & Snooker Club
For the last 6 months my human has been working in the 'Pool Club' (in the centre of this photo). She loves it there because it's given her a bit of a routine to her life (apart from walking me), it's an easy job because as it's a 'members only club', it never gets too busy, obviously as she's earning money I don't have to cut back on my treats, and her colleagues/customers are all lovely. It's not really like going to work. It's more of a little social outing for her.
However, on Wednesday we are heading back to Edinburgh for a few weeks. (For those of you who follow our BLIPS regularly, you will know, we have homes in Edinburgh & St Ives.) My human is still registered with a doctor/dentist there and I'm still registered with the vet. Ann has been busy booking appointments for us both. I'm getting my 6 monthly check up next week and Ann has appointments at the dentists, opticians & hairdressers. She also has an appointment for her flu & Covid vaccine the following week, and has to attend 'walk in centres' for a shingles vaccine & a pneumococcal vaccine. It's no fun being 65 years old. She's going to be pumped full of so many drugs in the next few weeks that she's a bit wary of actually organising too many social events in case she feels ill?!!
…..............To get back to the 'Pool Club'..................... we're hoping to be back in St Ives by mid December and she's hoping to return to work then. We have both had such a lovely time in St Ives for the last 6 months, but my human does not want to committ to a job where she has a contract and is only allowed a certain no. of holidays. If the 'Pool Club' don't want her when we return, then that's fine................ She will almost certainly be able to find a little job somewhere else. …...........Getting a job in a small seaside town is a lot easier than being a 65 yr old in a city and trying to find a job.
However for now, she's been kept on the payroll. Yay!
Also, she asked if she could be in charge of the FB page. As those of you who are our friends on FB know................ Ann documents her whole life OK only the bits she wants people to see on FB. The 'Pool Club' is trapped in a 1970s time warp which is why Ann and a lot of the members love it, but she's determined to bring it into the 21st Century and increase the membership. The website hasn't been updated since 2018 and there is no FB page. …..........Until now.............
If you're on FB, please help my human to get the FB page up and running by following the 'Harbour Pool & Snooker Club, St Ives'
Thank you. xxx
