Kerwestrauß

Our Straußbuwe (and -mäd) stopped on their way to the Kerweplatz right in front of my window, which gave me a chance for blipping and admiring the Kerwestrauß they made in the last months. It will be hanging somewhere, I will find out (I wasn't attending today's celebrations)

What's a Kerwe? One could say it's the Oktoberfest in the small villages (in each village it's own, on different dates).
Originally Kirchweih (Kerwe, Kerb) is the dedication of a church in German. More generally it also names the celebration of the anniversary of a dedication both at church and in local customs.
