A day in the life

Autumn continues to be on the good side, at least today, tomorrow looks like it could be something else.
I spent the morning remixing a recording I made for a friend of mine, a trio for two violins and piano by Shostakovich. My friend had lost the recording and wondered i I could send it to her and, by the way, she also wondered if I could change the balance between the instruments, she wasn't quite happy with it, as far as she could remember. She plays the violin and has been a former teacher of the instrument but gradually lost her eyesight. She kept on working as long as she could but in the end had to let go of her job. She has an amazing memory and a very good hearing, developed through decades of playing and enhanced further during losing her sight. She is now totally blind but keeps on playing, often together with her friends but then she has to memorize everything by heart. Among the pieces she is working on is this trio that she lost.

I spent a few hours remixing and I was pretty pleased with it and sent it to her on the web to listen to, she also wanted a cd of the music, which I delivered to her at noon. I asked her if she had listened to the mixing and she said yes, but the piano is a little bit too loud in a couple of the pieces. I'll probably redo it once more when the other two has listened to it.

My walk started in my garden by the Elephant-grass (Elephant-miscantus) I planted on the first spring here, it's getting pretty big by now and has taken on nice autumn colours, which will enlighten my blipspace for today. Have a good weekend.
