Celebrate

Another beautiful sunny day. I had a slow start, then walked to the new cafe round the corner and sat in the sun with a cappuccino whilst I texted some friends I should have been in touch with more regularly.
Drove down to Eddleston to meet A&N at the Horseshoe Inn. We’d decided to have a pub lunch to celebrate what would have been P’s birthday last week, and I had his favourites (ham egg and chips followed by crumble and custard - extra of him in Jan 2022 when I took him out to a pub for the last time). Chatted about N’s work and estate news, gardening, events in the Borders and memories of P.
We enjoyed our lunch then headed down to Peebles for a wander. The hills and woods were looking so beautiful….such a lovely setting for a town. We had a nice browse around and bought birthday cards for Mx for next week and I picked up a jumper in a charity shop, then we walked down by the river for a while before I came home and they went via the supermarket back to Greenlaw.
