Dogbane

Went in for staff development hour this morning.  It was a tour of the university greenhouses that are used for teaching and research. The academic taking us round was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic.  He overshot the time allocation by 30 minutes win meant that some attendees had to escape for desk duties. 
We saw tea, coffee, sweet potato, lemon grass, floating fern, dogbane, epiphytes, bananas and cacti. It was very interesting. The picture is a very silky seed from dogbane, a poisonous plant used by monarch butterflies apparently.  
Yoga cancelled at lunchtime. Busy day working from home trying to release new webpages for open access week which starts next week.
