969 day of war
Hello, friends!
This week has been quite tough. At the start of the week, Zelensky presented the victory plan in the Verkhovna Rada, which was unanimously supported by the parliament. However, both I and the public have many questions about it. It feels like we didn't hear anything new, and honestly, the plan seems rather unrealistic.
The first point is Ukraine's accession to NATO. Considering that Putin invaded Ukraine to prevent this, it could indeed be called a victory. But given the current realities, I don't think we’ll be accepted anywhere while the war is still active. The talk of this happening after the war ends frightens me, as it may signal to Putin that the war must continue indefinitely.
Other points involved defense assistance, and for the first time, Zelensky mentioned how Ukraine could repay the help. There wasn’t a word about the occupied territories, which means I was right to stop hoping I could ever return home. It’s also quite strange that the plan relies solely on actions from other countries—nothing is mentioned about what we, as a country, will do to achieve victory. Not a word about proper mobilization conditions, as even during World War II, soldiers had service periods after which they were given leave. Right now, as military personnel joke, we’ve introduced serfdom—getting into the army is easy, but coming back alive is impossible because there is no rotation or demobilization. There are also no real actions to fight corruption or support the population, and that’s quite sad. I’m quite skeptical about this plan and not sure that even if it were 100% executed, it would stop the war.
Also, this week Sonya fell ill, and we’re going to the vet every day for injections. Everything seemed fine, but one evening she suddenly started vomiting a lot, and after that, she stopped eating or drinking. Unfortunately, the older she gets, the more health issues arise, and it's hard to accept. Sonya has been with us for ten years now, and it feels like not so long ago she was so tiny, and now she's already of such a respectable age. Although the vet told me it’s not that old for cats, and they see cats aged 18 and older. I’m not sure if she said that to comfort us or if it's really true.
Now we’re feeding her with a syringe using a special pate, and we hope she’ll get better.
I’ve made a few pairs of holiday socks, and I think I’ll be able to show them next week. Overall, I didn’t manage to complete many of my plans, as it’s hard to stay productive when you’re so worried. There are no orders at the moment, which is a bit demotivating, but I talked to others who make handmade items, and it seems like everyone is going through the same thing right now. So, I’m focusing more on taking care of the cat and hoping she’ll recover soon and start eating on her own again.
Thank you all for your support! I believe these hard times will eventually end. Thank you also for the help on BuyMeACoffee, it really helps us survive right now. Thank you!
