Marjorie's ramblings

Yet more woods and trees!

As a group we have been very punctual all week. Ian was 3 minutes late for breakfast and we were ready to check if he had slept in!

We were packed up and off by 0930. Joe took Ian, Marie-Ange and Dan to Inverness Airport. Mark drove Andy and me to Inverness, Andy for his train and me to pick up my car. Andrew has his own camper van and was off to Aberfeldy for another workshop, this one with David Ward.

So a lovely week came to an end.

I drove east to Nairn and then meandered along small roads to Dulsie Bridge. There are woods all the way. I had a short walk in one and was pleased to see that there were beech trees in this one.

It was sunny with blue skies and some clouds.

When I arrived at Aviemore Premier Inn, it was to find that the restaurant is closed at weekends. The manager told me that she had contacted HQ but the website has not been updated. I wanted to know why I had not had word to warn me, especially when I had paid for my food!!

As it happened I’d been thinking that it would be nice to have a salad from M&S food as I drove past it.

There is no bulb in my bedside light either, but my good feelings from the week have prevented a major strop!

It really has been one of the best, if not THE best, workshop I’ve been on. Last night, we sat in the hotel conservatory and enjoyed a few drams. (The bar closed early but the manager left us two bottles of whisky and a tray of glasses, so we could enjoy ourselves!)

We started sending each other images on WhatsApp we had taken of each other during the week. It became very silly, especially since we were a landscape photography group. All good fun.

Tomorrow I have to decide what time to drive. The forecast is a bit on the tricky side, but I have all day to get home…

My extra is birch again. I liked the shadows on the main trunk.
