A little bit of history.
Out along the foreshore with the dog I am in the habit of collecting shards of pottery off the beach (Boness had three potteries 1750s to 1958). I have quite a collection.
Anyway with the extreme tides we are having at the moment (something to do with the Hunter's moon?) lots more pot has surfaced. I came across this glass. UNG embossed across it. Some research required. The glass is very thick, 9mm is a lot for a bottle. Long story short I tracked it down [insert]. A Younger's beer bottle from their Edinburgh brewery dating back to the early 1900s. At that time they were one of the biggest commercial operators in the city.
Who knows what we will find tomorrow.
