The last Saturday...

...before the school holidays. So my first English lesson was with my friend Adam and his daughter at 9am. Then Emilie at 10.15. My 11.30 class was cancelled last Monday.
The last lessons will be on Monday with Catherine and then Stéphanie, my two newest students.
Which means nothing until the 9th November. Although both my kids will be at home. For me, that means mainly cooking stuff for us 3.

Next weekend my son will have some friends round, so just as well I won't be teaching then. Me and Mme MB had the idea this morning of perhaps going away for that weekend. Not too far and just staying overnight Saturday to Sunday. I suggested Vallée de Chevreuse over in 78, which is really pretty. Especially with the Autumn colours.

So this afternoon I have the homework to sort out for this mornings classes, which will involve some scanning and processing of images to PDF using Gimp. I don't enjoy scanning textbooks, but it could be worse. I'll also check over my lessons for Monday.

Tomorrow we've been invited round to the outlaws. I've tried to avoid going to these things in recent times, as I sort of fell out with one of my brother in laws. Anyway it is all a bit awkward. For once I've decided to go for the sake of my wife and kids. I'll just have to sit it out.

Since moving to France I've not been a massive fan of spending hours at the dinner table. In the UK it is simply something I never did with family/friends etc. It was usually a case of eating quickly on a tray or at the table for Christmas. In France meal times are an artform, with a lot of conversation, everything being drawn out with various courses. I just feel like I don't want to be there after a while.
