That Will Do!

Pink Rose

Mr Flum suggested taking a trip on the Border Bus and, with some discussion, we decided on Peebles - but we go there often enough, so Innerleithen - but we were there quite recently...

So we plumped to go all the way through those places to Galashiels, sitting on the top deck as we followed the Tweed. After a quick lunch  in Tesco we walked up to the house where my late friend used to live.

As far as I know her widower is in a long-term hospital ward for the elderly and I wanted to know whether the house had been sold because, when he was still in residence, he had told me that he had kept her ashes, to be buried with his own and his mother's in due course. However strange I found this to be, I do hope he has passed this information to his family.

It appeared that the house remains in family possession (as he was adamant would be the case). I still miss her so I took my Blip of the rose by the front door, in her honour and it is my entry for Flower Friday, thanks to Bikerbear for hosting.

We discovered that there is a steep path from near the house down to the road and the Gala Water, which we crossed on a pretty bridge and returned to the bus station Interchange and, after a short wait, sped back to our car, parked conveniently close to the nearest stop to home.
