Architectural Art
As I went up the stairs, passing two artworks on my way to an apartment on the top floor, I reflected about the housing built in the 60's.
It was good, aimed at providing quality for ordinary people, comparable with the aims in the UK when the first council houses were being built.
It was also a touch of nostalgia, as when I first arrived in Sweden I lived in a flat in a very similar building. Marble staircases, built in art, and hatches to the rubbish chutes and the bins in the cellar. The latter are now sealed up as we have to recycle today.
The artworks were signed "H Åberg, 1963".
