Friday: Buddleia and Leek
Temperature barely in double figures and by late afternoon the “stiff breeze” had become a howling gale :-(
MrD on deliveries all day.
I’d started cutting down the yellow flowered jasmine a couple of days ago, it’s almost gone now - not sure if I’ll let it stay or remove completely, see how things look after the Bay Tree has had its pruning next week …
I saw the Buddleia in bud last weekend, it’s Buddleia weyeriana “Sungold” I had a similar one years ago and the bees loved it - https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2348226835076089484 - just the one small clump of flowers but the pollinators will be glad of any flowers at this time of the year.
The leek was picked this morning and is now a soup - my version of Leek & Potato soup has leek, onion, garlic, potato, carrots (I don’t use stock cubes!) and seasoned with black pepper and sea salt - which will be very handy as we have a storm warning lots of wind and rain … maybe … :-((
More episodes of “Foyles War” this evening …
