Improvising in Slavonski Brod

Today we drove from Austria, via Slovenia to Slavonski Brod in Croatia. It was a bit rainy and gray today, but we were not bothered by the weather.

Slavonski Brod does not look like a rich city. Many buildings with damaged facades or are in serious disrepair. The hotel is okay. The rooms are not very large, and we have to figure out how to best position the wheelchair for lifting. The hotelier is very willing to help and almost started to drag the desk out of the room. Not necessary, fortunately, because it all fits if you look calmly.

the restaurant recommended by the hotelier looked nice, but had a big threshold, just too high for the electric wheelchair. The owner was willing to make arrangements and went looking for a sturdy board while we walked around the town for a bit. When we came back there was a nice thick plank ready at the entrance. we had a delicious meal, in a really nice atmosphere.

Just one more day of traveling before the tournament starts!
