Observing

The morning was lovely and sunny and warm. So much so I sat in my shorts just inside the front door enjoying the sun while reading papers.

It then clouded over so indoors for a day of paperwork.

The dog got trimmed and afterwards we went onto Blackford Hill as the sun was setting to look for the A3 comet. The forecast had been for sunshine but by late afternoon it was wet and cloudy. However the sky began to brighten so we thought we’d try it.

No luck. The dark clouds from the west kept rolling in obscuring any chance of seeing the comet. We did see the latest super moon rising behind the Royal Observatory which was some compensation.
