Lincoln Cathedral at dusk seen from the train
I'm on my way to stay with friends in Lincolnshire, letting the train take the strain. Unfortunately, only two carriages arrived as a supposed inter city train from Cardiff to Nottingham, which formed a major part of my journey.Of course it was jammed full, with aisles jammed with standing passengers. Luckily I'd got a seat but it wasn't a restful journey.
On the third train of the trip we stopped at Lincoln, and I knew the cathedral was in an elevated position on a hill, unusual in the generally very flat Lincolnshire countryside. Once the train left the station I pointed my phone towards where I expected a view might appear, waiting for gaps between industrial buildings and housing estates. Hoping for the best produced this image in the early evening light.
